Mountain Valley Transit is a rural transit nonprofit that provides free transportation services throughout the San Luis and Arkansas River Valleys. Founded in Salida, CO in 1996, we rebranded from Chaffee Shuttle to Mountain Valley Transit in 2023 to better reflect our expanded service area.

MVT’s free door-to-door transportation services help increase independence and improve quality of life for residents and visitors in South Central Colorado. Rides are free within the San Luis and Arkansas River Valleys, with reasonable fees for trips to Colorado Springs, Denver, and other distant locations. All MVT vehicles are ADA compliant with vetted and ADA trained drivers.

Our Mission: To provide transit options within our rural communities that increase access to key destinations, reduce household transportation costs, and decrease environmental impact through shared-ride alternatives.
